Team Holland keeps it moving IMEX America in Las Vegas 2016

Team Holland at IMEX America Las Vegas 2016Holland moves

If IMEX America keeps breaking its own records year after year, Team Holland can’t stay behind. IMEXrun on the Las Vegas strip

Do you know the expression ‘you snooze, you lose!’? Well, this certainly applies to day 2 of IMEX: snoozing means missing out on the IMEXrun. And trust me, the incentive of running on a closed off part of the Las Vegas strip and watching the sunrise with 800 event professionals from all over the world is worth the lack of sleep. The IMEXrun has become a beloved tradition at the IMEX trade shows in Las Vegas and Barcelona. This year, Team Holland officially and proudly supported the event. Here are some impressions from Team Holland keeping it moving – and bouncing – during the run:

Let’s keep it moving at IBTM World in Barcelona

Attending IMEX America is always a terrific experience for Team Holland and we can’t wait to be back next year. Did you miss us in Las Vegas this time? Not to worry. We will be at IBTM World in Barcelona from November 29 – December 1, 2016 to show you how Holland moves. And don’t forget to pre-order your tickets for Rendezvous, the not-to-miss industry event of the year in Barcelona. Until then, keep it moving!

2015 was the year we dreamed of Holland and did the Orange Twist

There are only a couple of weeks left in 2015 and I can’t help but wonder: where did the last 350 odd days go? Did I do too much Orange Twisting or did somebody push the fast forward button? Then I remembered that there was simply so much going on in the Dutch and international meetings industry this year that time quite literally flew by. So why don’t you join me on a little trip down memory lane 2015 and let’s reminisce together!

I visited Frankfurt, London, Las Vegas and Barcelona

IMEX Frankfurt, the Meetings Show UK in London, IMEX America in Las Vegas and IBTM World in Barcelona are regulars in my annual agenda. Yet these trade shows never seize to amaze me. The people I met, the Dreaming of Holland we did, the Happy Hours we celebrated and the Orange Twists we danced together made for some wonderful memories!

Holland celebrated King’s Day

2015 marked the first year that Holland celebrated King’s Day on a very special day: the King’s birthday! After celebrating Queen’s Day on April 30 for the last 123 years, King’s Day, also known as Holland’s biggest party, will now be celebrated on April 27.

Le Tour de France grand départ in Utrecht

Holland hosted the grand départ of Le Tour de France for the sixth time in 2015; a record! This year Utrecht was elected to host the event. It was a celebration that lasted 100 days with a variety of smaller events leading up to the big event in the city.

And since Holland is the #1 bicycle country in the world it’s almost needless to say that Holland was head over (w)heels to be part of the world’s largest cycling event once again!

We did the Orange Twist together

I can still feel my feet from all the Orange Twisting we did at IMEX America and IBTM World this year. No one can deny that we twisted the floors in Las Vegas and Barcelona. And we’re not done yet! Are you ready for some more Orange Twisting at IMEX Frankfurt and the Meetings Show UK in 2016? Here’s my official Orange Twist video to help you practice (and to get you dreaming about Holland!):

Rotterdam was European City of 2015 & on Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel List 2016

Holland has so many exciting cities, but in 2015 one city in particular took the spotlight on the international stage: Rotterdam! First Rotterdam was awarded ‘European city of 2015’ – here you can find out why.

And just recently, Rotterdam has been named one of the top cities to visit in 2016 by Lonely Planet. Very exciting news for the youngest and most modern of Holland’s main cities!

IMEX America 2015 recap: it’s all about the #OrangeTwist

Wow, has it really been a week already since IMEX America? I think I can still feel that Orange Twist in my legs. And even though we all know the saying ‘What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas’ I’d like to share some of my personal IMEX America experiences with you.

Team Holland

This year 15 of my Dutch partners came all the way from Holland to Las Vegas with me. Each and every one of them played a big part in making IMEX America such a big success for Team Holland. We had more than 700 visitors at the Holland booth in just three days. Incredible!

Did you do the Orange Twist?

I actually know you a lot of you did, because I have video proof! Thanks to all of you for coming to the Holland booth and not only talking to my partners to find out how to give your next event the Orange Twist, but also actually doing the Orange Twist with me! I had so much fun that I went on twisting until the very end and it was such a great way to re-connect with old and make new friends.

Don’t forget to vote for the best Orange Twist

Head over to my Facebook page and vote for the best twister of IMEX America. Or if you did the Orange Twist, share your video on your own Facebook page and try to get as many votes as possible. The dancer with the most votes will win a fantastic 4-day trip to Holland. The winner will be announced on November 2nd!

Update:

It is my great pleasure to share the winning Orange Twist video from IMEX America with you! If you recognise yourself in the video, please send me a private message onmy Facebook page so that I can get in touch with you regarding your prize: a fabulous 4-day trip to Holland!

IMEXrun

And as if doing all that twisting wasn’t exercise enough, some of my Team Holland friends and I decided to get up bright and early on day 2 to participate in the 2nd IMEXrun. Have you ever run 5k over an (almost) empty Las Vegas strip? Well, me neither! As it turns out I accidentally took a wrong turn and ended up running just short of 5k. But, that didn’t keep me from having lots of fun out there and adding some Orange to the mix. And I even won the Best Spirit Award! Where can I sign up for the next IMEXrun?

And last but not least…

Below I selected some impressions from my time at IMEX America Las Vegas. Team Holland and I had a fantastic time. See you in 2016!
