My report on our last official Queen’s Day, Holland’s largest national event

Yesterday was a big day in Dutch national history: our Queen Beatrix passed her throne to the Prince of Orange. During the day I travelled around our country to report on the activities in different cities.

A summary in pictures (click for enlargement and explanation):

Meet the Dutch at #EIBTM : Make an appointment!

As you know, I was first introduced to the international meeting buyer community at last year’s EIBTM in Barcelona. This year, stand J300 will be my home, and your Holland Meeting Point during EIBTM. Be sure to check out my live performance during our Happy Hours at 17:00 on Tuesday and Wednesday.

I will be joined by representatives of 33 of the finest Dutch convention centres, special venues, meeting hotels and hotel chains, regional convention bureaus, destination management companies and other service providers, such as Skyteam (KLM-AirFrance and partners). The venues cover the best of what Holland has to offer, in all geographical areas, ranging from very old historic buildings to state-of-the-art modern facilities. We even have a former cruise vessel that is now a trendy hotel and meeting venue.

The destination experts from five major cities and the best destination management companies will help you to create the best circumstances for your next meeting, and will make sure that the logistics run seamlessly.

Appointment system : really easy!

If you are going to the EIBTM in Barcelona from 27 through 29 November, do visit the EIBTM website to find out about all the show and the benefits for attendees.

To be sure of an appointment, please use the EIBTM pre-scheduled appointment system to book your slot, or contact me directly to set up an appointment. With so many friends present, there must be someone at the Holland Meeting Point (stand J300) that can help you with your next meeting:

3 of my favourite events around the #IMEX12 showfloor: #eventprofs Tweetup, EURO Party and meeting with you!

A little more then 3 weeks to go before the international meetings industry will gather in Las Vegas for IMEX America 2012. In the past week the pre-show excitement really gained some momentum, as more and more people join the converstation via #IMEX12. In this post I would like to draw your attention to 3 special events at the IMEX showfloor where I would love to meet you in person!

1. #eventprofs Tweetup

Personally I love staying connected with my friends in the meetings industry via Social Media like Twitter and Facebook. This gets even better when we get the chance to meet each other ‘in real life’! At IMEX Frankfurt I was a proud host of the #EUventprofs Tweetup. And currently plans are being made to have a tweetup with the #Eventprofs at IMEX again. So please join us by filling in this RSVP: http://imexlasvegastweetup.eventbrite.com

In case we do not manage to pick a date that fits us all, we could always turn this into a daily event. Like a ‘campfire’ where we share our coolest findings of the tradeshow. I’ll bring some ‘stroopwafels’, delicious with a cup of coffee or tea!

2. EURO Party for hosted buyers

The European CVB’s and Tourism offices join forces and are pleased to invite hosted buyers to the EURO Party at IMEX America on October 10th at 4:30 pm in the European section on the show floor. Back by popular demand, the “EURO Party” will give you the chance to relax, enjoy a bite to eat, have a drink, and mingle with European destination representatives and their partners. Be sure to take a walk around the area to get stamps for your “EURO Passport” and to discover some typical food and drink, unique performances and other surprises from Germany, Holland, France, Greece, Monaco Switzerland, Turkey, and many more!

Are you a hosted buyer? Let us know your joining the party and RSVP at Linkedin: http://linkd.in/RmEBg3

 3. Meeting with you at the Holland Booth (212)

And finally I am really looking forward to meeting you in real life at the booth of the Netherlands Board of Tourism & Conventions (212). I can answer all your questions about organizing meetings and conferences in my country, we can take a picture together and I can introduce you to the partners who came along to Vegas.

To make an appointment you have to be logged in at the IMEX America website and then follow this link: Netherlands Board of Tourism & Conventions, Booth number 212. At the booth you can make personal appointments with:
